Condolence Letter for Jim McGrath

It is with great sadness that I offer my condolences to the family and friends of Jim McGrath on his recent passing.

Jim will be remembered as the founder of the DC Tenants Advocacy Coalition (“TENAC”). As founder of the TENAC, Jim was a leader in the fight for tenant interests, tenant rights, and strengthening and preserving rent control in the District of Columbia. He demonstrated a deep commitment to combatting the District’s affordable housing crisis, and was a strong supporter of many other important causes. I extend my thoughts and prayers to Jim’s family, and express my gratitude for his work advocating for tenants across the District.

He will be remembered for his advocacy and the positive mark he left on so many lives and will be greatly missed.

May his memory be a blessing to you, all the days of your lives.

Sincerely,

Brianne K. Nadeau

The House action yesterday is an affront to democracy, undermines the voice and vote of 700,000 U.S. citizens and legal residents, and threatens public safety in the District with counterproductive measures.
