Public Safety Update

Over the past year, my Council colleagues and I have been laser-focused on improving public safety in the District. Every Ward 1 resident deserves to feel safe in their home and their neighborhood. I’d like to provide you with this update on my work in this critical area.
Nadeau Releases Redacted Report on Sexual Harassment Investigation
Councilmember Brianne K. Nadeau today released the redacted version of the independent counsel’s review of the city’s earlier investigations into sexual harassment complaints against John Falcicchio. The review was required by legislation Nadeau introduced in July 2023.

A Better Budget

The Committee on Public Works & Operations unanimously passed our revised budget, which recommends adjustments to the Mayor’s budget to the full Council.

Ward 1 Update: Fixing Bad Budget Cuts, Mopeds, and Rosemount Reprieve
Good news this week! Rosemount Center and its landlord, House of Mercy, have come up with an agreement to keep the cherished early childhood education center in Mount Pleasant open with a lease extension of at least two years.
