Statement on the attack against the Embassy of Cuba on 16th Street NW

On Sunday evening, an individual was captured on video throwing what appeared to be homemade incendiary devices at the Embassy of Cuba on 16th Street NW. The incident is being investigated as an arson by federal law enforcement.

I of course condemn this incident and any incident of violence or terrorism against any resident, organization, institution, or property. In D.C. we cherish our freedom of speech and the ability to express our opinions and dissent peaceably. Terrorism has no place here.
