Releases & Statements

Circulator bus service will be phased out in the coming months and the plan announced last week by WMATA and the D.C. Department of Transportation leaves a significant and unacceptable gap in crosstown service for the Adams Morgan, Columbia Heights, and Woodley Park neighborhoods. I am working to fix that.
Councilmember Brianne K. Nadeau released the following statement.
I look forward to collaborating with the Office of Planning, neighbors, and local institutions to create a new community landmark we can all be proud of, one that will add density to the site, contribute to the shortage of affordable housing in this part of Ward 1 and provide new public amenities to help restore the vibrancy of this end of the U Street Corridor.
Councilmember Brianne K. Nadeau (D-Ward 1) secured an agreement from the Mayor’s Office of Legal Counsel to provide key documents to assist the District’s attorney general in investigating potential criminal behavior by John Falcicchio, the Mayor’s former chief of staff and former deputy mayor for planning and economic development, a day following news reports that the attorney general accused MOLC of impeding his investigation.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Councilmember Brianne K. Nadeau, D-Ward 1, joined by Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen, introduced legislation Monday to address the proliferation of mopeds in D.C. by making sellers and renters of mopeds responsible for registration requirements, similar to the experience of buying or renting a car.
There have been two shootings in Ward 1 this week, including one fatal in the early hours this morning, that also left two others in stable condition, according to early reports. We know that officers were patrolling nearby as the shooting occurred and responded quickly. I understand how upsetting and scary this is. While crime is on the decline so far this year, that doesn’t minimize the damage and the fear when it occurs.
