Nadeau Introduces Bill to Streamline Paperwork and Data Collection by District Agencies – Office of Councilmember Brianne K. Nadeau

Washington – Today, Ward 1 D.C. Councilmember Brianne Nadeau introduced the Paperwork Reduction and Data Collection Act of 2017.

District residents and businesses have been grappling with the burden of filling out what seems like a mountain of various forms in their interactions with District agencies, often giving the same information to multiple agencies over and over again. Currently, there is no easy way to correct or update information with one agency or feel confident that the information will be shared with other appropriate agencies that would logically need that information. That means people are often giving the same or similar information over and over again. They also may wind up missing an agency when needing to update information. The result may be inconsistent records.
