Recent Votes on Guns and Public Safety
On Tuesday, we passed two new emergency measures to get more guns off the streets, which is an essential part of ending violence in our community.
Letter to Department of Human Services on Families in Hotels and Shelters
On March 4, 2020, Councilmember Nadeau sent this letter and request to Director Zeilinger of the Department of Human Services to ensure that the Council and the public are fully informed about the wellbeing of families staying in hotels and in our new Short Term Family Housing (STFH) facilities.
Next Steps on the Eastern Downtown Cycletrack
There was a lot of discussion on the Council today regarding my efforts to revive the cancelled safety improvements on 9th Street NW from Pennsylvania to Florida Ave. I’m committed to continue working with my colleagues and the community to seek a way forward on difficult conversations.
