As Chief of Staff, Niccole serves as a senior advisor to the Councilmember and manages the day-to-day operations of the office. She previously worked in federal government relations for the financial services industry and on several political campaigns. Niccole earned her B.A. in International Affairs from Lafayette College and has called the District home for more than a decade. She lives in the heart of Ward 1 with her cat, Mabel. She loves exploring D.C.’s restaurants and is an avid home cook.

Jerry Clark

Jerry collaborates on inquiries from residents, businesses and government affairs liaisons. He previously worked in housing and social advocacy policy in North Carolina and as a compliance/property manager for a public supportive housing organization in Montgomery County. Jerry enjoys the D.C. atmosphere and is often in the community playing kickball or enjoying local events with friends.

A former newspaper reporter, David previously led communications for the Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives, the Maine Department of Education, and a national education nonprofit. He is responsible for media relations and communicating the work of the Councilmember to constituents in Ward 1 and across the District. He’s a frequent bike commuter and weekend rider and loves to hike.

Kara previously worked on advocacy campaigns in global public health, internet access, and gender equality, and as a communications director in the Massachusetts state legislature. She holds master’s degrees from the London School of Economics and George Washington University. A devoted baseball fan, she enjoys spending time at the ballpark with her partner, Jessie. She shares the work of the Councilmember on social media and digital platforms.

Estelle is passionate about working alongside her Ward 1 community. She tackles constituent casework, advocates for policy improvements, and actively engages with Ward 1 residents. Estelle has a background in tracking reproductive health legislation and substance use disorder policy analysis. She holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Virginia and cherishes moments cooking and reading with her beloved cats.

Maricela was born in D.C. General Hospital, grew up and attended neighborhood schools in Columbia Heights and then Pleasant Plains, where her parents bought their first home. Maricela has witnessed the changes in her community. She joined Councilmember Nadeau’s team to give back to the community. She recently earned her master’s in business administration and serves as liaison with Ward 1’s Hispanic community.

Ariel serves as Committee Director and covers environmental policy. She was previously legislative counsel for Councilmember Mary Cheh and senior fellow at the Food Law & Policy Clinic at Harvard Law School. A lifelong DMV native, she officially moved into D.C. in 2016 to attend law school at Georgetown University. Ariel lives in NW with her husband and enjoys yoga, running, reading, and finding the best food in the District.

Abby covers business licensing and consumer protection, health, and labor for the office. She was previously a policy analyst at the Urban Institute where she focused on housing stability and technical assistance. Abby is earning her master’s in public management from Johns Hopkins University. She grew up in the D.C. area and now lives in Ward 1, where you can often find her reading at Malcolm X Park.

Born and raised in Ward 1, Amanda is passionate about working for the city and ward that she loves. Her committee portfolio includes technology policy and digital equity, community and LGBTQ+ affairs, and contracting and procurement. She contributes to legislation on education, youth affairs, and District-owned and leased real estate. She lives in Adams Morgan with her cats Skeletor and Hiccup Peaches O’Malley.

As a Park View resident, David is thrilled to be working for the people of Ward 1. His portfolio includes transportation, land use, business and economic development, and tax policy. David holds a Master of Public Policy from George Washington University, where he also attended as an undergraduate in political science with a minor in music. Before working for the Council, David worked on federal tax and housing policy research to address the racial wealth divide.
