Statement on the Fatal Shooting in LeDroit Park

Councilmember Nadeau released the following statement following the shooting overnight Thursday on the 200 block of V St. NW, near The Park at LeDroit.

“This is very upsetting. Just yesterday I joined LeDroit Park community leaders at the park on this very block, including ANC 1B Commissioner Larry Handerhan, Life Deeds (the violence prevention and intervention group dedicated to the neighborhood), the Kelly Miller Tenants Association, MPD and others who live in the neighborhood. We were talking about how calm things have been over the past few weeks. It’s very distressing to hear about this tragic event. 

“Today my team followed up with MPD and Life Deeds to share our condolences with the family and friends of the deceased and to follow up on next steps and any concerns about aftereffects.”
